And so it begins.....

I am sure that nobody but myself is going to read this blog so I guess it is more journaling that blogging. But the reason behind it is I am ready to Step It Up! For the past 4 years I have been sporadically into races. I have competed in 5 triathlons, 3 Ragnar relays, 2 10Ks, many 5ks, and I just raced my first half marathon. I say sporadically because it has been just that. I pick a race and train for a short period of time for that race. When the race is over then I take a break. That break can be anywhere between 6 days, 6 weeks, or 6 months. So my new goal is to always be training. I have definitely improved over the years but have never pushed myself hard enough to really get better. I will never be # 1 and I am completely ok with that but I do want to be a competitor. And if the competition is just with myself then I am ok with that to. When I finish a race, I want my thought to change from " yeah, I finished " to " yes, that was the best that I could have done ". So here goes to me stepin it up!
